Full album out Friday! Livestream Saturday.
Wheew! I know this is a crazy time for everyone. Releasing an album under these circumstances has been, well, interesting. But we’re doing it anyway.
So many people have ordered CDs and t-shirts and streamed the first two singles. Thank you to you all! You know who you are (I know who you are as well and I won’t forget). The full album will be out on Friday. If you haven’t had a chance to pre-save it on Spotify, you should. When you pre-save it automatically adds the saved music to your playlist the moment it comes out, so you get it right away.
Because of these strange times, we can’t do what we’d normally do, which is get a hundred or so of you awesome folks together and have a really loud fun time singing all these songs and more. I’m sad about that. I’m sure you are too. However, on Saturday the 30th I’ll be doing a livestream from my back patio with the Jay Stott Trio. I’m really excited to play with these guys (none of us have played a live show since February or March), and we’re really looking forward to playing you all ten songs from the new album plus maybe a few more. We will really miss playing to a live audience, but we’re trying to do this a safely as possible (my patio is big enough to provide for plenty of social distancing!) There’s an event on Facebook– head on over there and click the buttons to make sure you get updated info an announcements.
Normally, at the end of May I would be sending an email with a whole bunch of gig dates for the summer. Obviously that’s not happening right now. But I am working on some fun web based things to get out of the ‘musician in their basement singing’ livestream rut. Look for a combo livestream with my sister, Anne Stott (awesome actor, musician and all around cool person) sometime in mid-June, and I’m hoping for a full band livestream with the guys (and gals) who helped record Wreckage of Now by the end of the summer. And, I will keep doing some solo livestream shows as we go along here.
Stay well and be safe out there.
Jay
