January 4, 2015 by JGstott Leave a Comment

Happy New Year! I’m looking forward to a good one. I hope you are too. I had a great time last night at The Rock Inn in Estes Park for the first gig of the year. Big thanks to my friend Brian who has been joining me on dobro, and thanks to the crew at … [Read more…]

I hate that. It’s a process. Trust the process. Don’t hurry. Heck with that! Unfortunately, when someone tells you that, they’re probably right. It is a process. Being in a rush probably won’t help. Won’t make it better. Won’t make it what you want it to be. And that’s true in so many realms, not … [Read more…]

Off the High Dive…

July 10, 2014 by JGstott Leave a Comment

And into the deep end. You know what that picture above means I think. This week I took a pretty big plunge- for me anyway. Ray Wylie Hubbard, who has taken to writing loooong and really entertaining Facebook posts, included a song suggestion in a post not too long ago. I’m a big fan of his, so I just couldn’t resist following his instructions and seeing how it came out. Here are his instruction reproduced exactly: So there you go- … [Read more…]

Stolen Cars (scratch versions of new songs)

June 15, 2013 by JGstott Leave a Comment

I spent a chunk of time yesterday recording some scratch versions of songs I’m working on. They may or may not end up developing into some larger project. I’m going to post a few to Soundcloud just for fun. Here’s the first:   Feel free to comment below- these are very much works in progress.

Oh, just a song..

March 26, 2013 by JGstott 2 Comments

I’ve been working on some new songs, and working on some new recordings (taking some classes in both songwriting and music production right now), so life is busy but good. Adding to that was the silly frenzy of Couch by Couchwest, so that’s a full schedule. Hopefully I’ll have some new recordings to kick out … [Read more…]
